The 2019/20 season is still a few months away, but SuperSport United aren’t wasting any time when it comes to their plans, and have confirmed a new deal for one of their Zimbabwean internationals.
Onismor Bhasera has played 22 Absa Premiership games for Matsatsantsa in 2018/19, and despite having recently turned 32, the club have opted to extend his contract by one more year as they look to next season.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits man joined SuperSport ahead of the 2016/17 campaign and has come back with a bang this year after battling with injuries last time out.
Stan Matthews, SuperSport’s CEO, confirmed to the Siya crew that ‘Bash’ has penned a new contract with the club, meaning that he will be there until at least 2020, as a reward for his performances.
Matthews said, “Yes, we’ve given Bhasera a new one-year deal as a result of the way that he’s played for the club this season and the continued professionalism and impeccable attitude that he has displayed since joining us. We’re very happy that he’ll still be with us next season. He’s the sort of person we want to be part of this club.”
Meanwhile, the likes of Morgan Gould, James Keene, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Bongani Khumalo all have uncertain futures at this point in time, with their current deals set to expire at the end of June.
Kaitano Tembo’s side faces SuperSport United in the Tshwane Derby this evening.
