A source privy to the development disclosed that Sibanda at one time erroneously shared a message on his WhatsApp status blaming Soma-Phiri for the club’s dismal performance.

“Jerry erroneously shared a message on his WhatsApp status saying Amin was sending the team down (to the lower division), I think he was trying to send it to someone.

“If Amin loses again this weekend he is gone and I have a feeling Rahman Gumbo will finally takeover as he has always been City’s preferred coach,” said the source who declined to be identified for fear of victimisation.

Gumbo is currently attached to Makomo in the ZIFA Southern Region Division One.

Phiri was brought on board to replace Darlington Dodo who had a run of poor results earlier on in the season.

Soma-Phiri opened the second half of the season with a 1-0 loss to Chapungu last weekend and will face a tricky Harare City at Barbourfields on Saturday.

They sit third from bottom, three points from bottom placed side Mutare City.
