Italian giants AS Roma on Thursday had time to honour Zimbabwe giants Highlanders on their verified social media platforms as its team of the day.

The Serie A team whose Twitter account has 419 thousand followers shared a graphic image of Highlanders’ history sending thousands of Bosso (14.5 thousand) and local football fans into a social media frenzy.
The message which came on Independence Day seems to have meant a lot for the football fraternity.
“#ASRoma‘s Twitter Team of the Day is @HighlanderBosso. Founded in 1926 by Ndebele King Lobengula’s grandsons, Albert and Rhodes, they hail from the football-rich city of Bulawayo and play in the Zimbabwe Premier League. Their nickname Bosso is Setswana slang for ‘The Boss’,” read the Tweet.
Fans jostled to comment on the Tweet which had generated almost 700 retweets and 1.400 comments within an hour.
“Tweet that brings a smile on rather depressed zimbos forced to celebrate false independence,” responded @Hamilton88888 while another urged the Italians to host Bosso in the future.
“This is great thank you AS ROMA for sharing this rich history about the Royal you should host them at some point in Italy and also come to Bulawayo and see how soccer crazed we are.”
AS Roma is the Mother Theresa of football, the amount of love and support shown here is inspiring.Everyone is important (salute),” added @GoodManTrue.
Hundreds expressed appreciation and a new found love for Roma.
The Bulawayo giants are yet to get into gear with no win in three premier league outings this season.
Their 2-0 win over rivals Dynamos in the Independence Cup final could just be a boost ahead of their trying clash against lowveld side Triangle in matchday 4 of the Castle Lager premiership.
